ORCHESTRATIONS, ARRANGEMENTS

Not possessing a strong urge to compose, I have nevertheless always been fascinated by works appearing in different guises, and it is this fascination with new versions that lead to the composition of many newly orchestrated and newly edited works. 

It even lead to a PhD and the founding of a small publishing house.

Mussorgski, Prelude to Khovanshchina (1975) (Doblinger, 1992) symphony orchestra

This orchestration of Modest Mussorgski’s Prelude to Khovanshchina, after the composer’s piano version has been performed by many orchestras, including the Concertgebouw Orchestra, the London Philharmonic Orchestra and the Tonhalle Orchestra under Bernard Haitink, Colin Davis and Ferdinand Leitner.
